Why Hawaii?
Hawaii meeting and event planning programs concentrate on Oahu (where Honolulu is located), The Big Island, Kauai and Maui, but those are just a few of the choices. The diversity in Hawaii seems daunting at first, but hunting for meeting and event planning in Hawaii can be as easy as booking hotel-laden Waikiki Beach (which is also near the convention center and major business districts). Hawaii meeting and event planning is all about taking the meeting away from the hustle of the city to the plentiful native culture, local foods, golf courses and scenic meeting resorts of Hawaii’s Big Island, Kauai, and Maui.
The most popular meeting cities in Hawaii for events and conferences include Maui, Kauai, Big Island (Kailua-Kona), Big Island (Kohala Coast), and Oahu (Honolulu).
Kauai is one of the planet’s most beautiful islands—lush, scenic, untrammeled, spellbinding—and the farthest of the main Hawaiian islands from the mainland American coast. It contains Mount Waialeale/Alikai Swamp, often noted as the world’s wettest spot. Kauai event venues frequently share the island’s ethereal beauty, by proximity if not design.
Honolulu isn’t just a destination for pleasure trips – it also knows how to get down to business. Home to the striking 1.1 million-square-foot Hawaii Convention Center, Honolulu has hosted annual conferences and events for many well-known corporations, including the National Psychological Association, National Medical Association, Hawaii State Department of Health and National Pest Management Association.
Honolulu boasts a superior year-round climate, with temperatures averaging 77°F, so anytime is a great time to visit. Guests can feel safe and secure, as Honolulu has the lowest rate of violent crime of any U.S. city with more than 390,738 people. Honolulu not only works hard, but plays hard, with numerous championship golf courses, an abundance of adventure and leisure hiking, supreme surfing, fantastic snorkeling among living reefs and serious sun tanning. With options like these, it’s no surprise that Hawaii frequently ranks among the top destinations for leisure travel in the U.S., and is a locale that entices droves of event attendants and Honolulu meeting planning professionals.
